CSE Labs consists of eleven computer labs. We have computers with Windows 7 and Ubuntu Linux. To view more information about the labs including locations, scheduling, and hardware, please visit the Lab Information page.
Support for the CSE Labs is provided by the CSE Labs Systems Staff. The Operator on duty can be contacted via e-mail at operator [at] cselabs.umn.edu , by phone at (612) 625-0876, in person at room 1-201 in Keller Hall, or by using the red phones located in the labs.
Your CSE Labs account comes with many resources for individuals, classes, and the college. This includes free printing, access to computer labs and servers, lab software, and other additional free software. To make the most of your account feel free to use all the resources available to you.
To gain access to these resources you need to enable your CSE Labs account. Information for creating and using your CSE Labs account and available software licenses can be found on the Account Information page.
Some CSE Labs sponsored classes use their own websites to communicate with students and organize information. You can find a list of the classes on the Course Websites page.
You can remotely connect to our machines either from home or from another CSE Labs machine. We currently do not allow remote access to Windows due to licensing issues, but you can remotely access UNIX machines all you like. For more information, please visit the Offsite Access help page.
Your CSE Labs account comes with an e-mail account that has an address of <your_username>@cselabs.umn.edu. Links to e-mail setup help can be found on the E-mail help page. If you have any more questions, please contact the on-duty CSE Labs Operator.
If you ever run into any problems with the resources provided by CSE Labs, please do not hesitate to contact the CSE Labs System Staff. We will readily assist you via e-mail, over the phone, or in-person. If you have any feedback or comments, please direct them towards manager [at] cselabs [dot] umn [dot] edu.
