Account Creation

Starting Fall Semester 2011

CSE Labs use is open to any student currently enrolled in the College of Science and Engineering.

You can open a CSE Labs Account using one of the following two methods:

• Online: You can open an account online by completing the CSE Labs Account Creation Form.
• Labs: You can also open an CSE Labs account by visiting one of the CSE Labs. Enter “register” for both the username and password to log into one of the workstations. Once you have logged in, complete the Account Creation Form that is presented.

Acceptable Use Policies

All CSE Labs users are responsible for knowing and following the following policies:

• University of Minnesota Acceptable Use Policy

Software Licenses

You must also abide by the licenses of the various software you may use in the labs. Many of the applications we have in the labs have both a commercial and an academic license. The labs in general have academic licenses for these applications. You are responsible for knowing the differences. If your unsure of how you can use a license you should ask.

Here are some examples:

• ANSYS License
• Solidworks License
