The College of Science and Engineering provides several public computer labs that are reserved for CSE students. Students must open a CSE labs account in order to use these labs.
This site provides information regarding CSE lab account creation, access, and use. If you are unable to find what you are looking for on this site or have comments, suggestions, or questions, please send e-mail to operator [at] cselabs.umn.edu .
Door Access: The Mechanical Engineering building now has 24 hour access for CSE Labs students. If you have an active CSE Labs account, your U Card will now have access to the ME building after hours. If you would like to test your U Card to ensure it works, please use the door in the far southwest corner of the courtyard between the old Mechanical Engineering building and the new Mechanical Engineering building. This is NOT the glass door next to the elevator.
We are converting the labs to a unified sign on.
This means you'll be able to use the labs with your University Internet ID and you will no longer need to keep track of separate passwords for your accounts.
The timeline for the labs conversion can be found on the
Single Sign On webpage.
After 10:00 pm, entry to ME 308 and Keller 4-250 can be gained by a valid U Card using the reader left of the door.
The complete schedule for these computer labs, and all other CSE Labs, can be found on the Computer Classroom and Lab Hours webpage.
Note: There will not be an operator on-site between 10:00 pm and 7:00 am Monday through Friday, or 6:00 pm and 10:00 am Saturday and Sunday. If there is an emergency, please call the police. All activity in the labs will be recorded.
Windows 7 Pro and other Microsoft software is available to students through the Microsoft Developer Network Academic Alliance.
